Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range is a world-class shooting facility located in the South Delhi Ridge area. Built against the backdrop of the Adilabad Fort, it is also close to other tourist spots like the Suraj Kund Lake, the Tughlaqabad Fort and the Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary. Dating back to the 1982 Asian Games, the range was constructed to honour Maharaja Dr. Karni Singh, who was the first Arjuna Awardee in shooting (1961).
It is spread across 72 acres and is divided into six sections: a 50-metre range, a 25-metre range, a 10-metre range, a final range, skeet and trap range, and a state-of-the-art armoury building. Following massive plantations and renovations, the range has transformed into one of the most attractive shooting destinations in India. While hosting the 2010 Commonwealth Games, it was even commended by many participants as one of the world's best shooting ranges.
