Mirza Ghalib ki Haveli

The Mirza Ghalib ki Haveli is a historic mansion that was used as a residence by Mirza Ghalib, one of the most quoted and celebrated Urdu poets of India. Hidden amidst the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk, the place has been declared as a heritage site by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Featuring bricks and columns, the quaint compound of the building reflects the typical Mughal style of architecture.

Declared a permanent memorial museum by the Delhi Government, the haveli is home to several items like books and handwritten poems by Ghalib, portraits of his contemporaries like Abu Zafar and Ustaad Zauq as well as his life-size replica holding a hookah in his palm. Offering a glimpse into the poet's life, there's also a wall talking about his favourite attire - Lamba Kurta and Baalon Wali Lambi Topi as well as his favourite dishes - Bhuna Gosht, Taley Hue Kebab and Soan Halwa.
