National Philatelic Museum
The National Philatelic Museum attempts to showcase the great Indian panorama as presented through postage stamps. All Commemorative Postage Stamps issued by Department of Post since independence in 1947 are displayed in chronological order in the Museum. Thematic stamps under specific themes like Mahatma Gandhi, Science and Technology, Flora and Fauna, Art and Culture, Children's Day etc are displayed in the Thematic Section. Each exhibit in the thematic section has a brief write up too.
Many blow-ups of beautiful & popular stamps adorn the inside walls of the National Philatelic Museum. The Museum is equipped with audio-visual facility and a small amphitheatre to interact with visitor's groups such as school children. Guided tour and Workshops on Philately are regularly conducted for school children and visitors visiting the museum. There is also a souvenir shop inside the museum. A wide range of philatelic ancillaries sourced from all across the country are available for sale at the souvenir shop. Further, My Stamp printing facility is also available at the Museum. It takes around 15-20 minutes to prepare a personalised My Stamp.
